Okay...
I was hoping for a sharp crime novel that would plant in me the desire to follow the series; keep me breathless with anticipation, have me manipulating my schedule just to listen, caring what happened to these people. This didn't. There is no arguing the reviews that are out there saying "Connelly knows his territory", having been a former Pulitzer Prize winning crime reporter, but the book is just comparable to an episode of CSI. Nothing surprising or memorable, no characters outside the predicatable stereotypes, been there - done that. It's not bad, but it's not great--it's okay.

I loved everything about this book. The book itself had many turns and kept me guessing. This is usually pretty rare. But the reader is what took this book to another level. Very well read with just the right mixture of effects on the voice. A very good buy.
